1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Sportfolio, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be at least 15 years of age to use Sportfolio. Users under 15 must have parental consent.
2. Description of the Service
Sportfolio is a free, user-generated sports encyclopedia. Users can discover, create, and enrich athlete profiles. The content is contributed by the community and we do not guarantee its accuracy.
3. Account
You may register an account by providing email, username, and password, or by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must verify your email for classic sign-up before full access.
4. User Content – License Grant & Warranty
By submitting content (text, images, or other materials) to Sportfolio, you grant Sportfolio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, store, and distribute that content in connection with the service.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights and permissions to share this content, and that your submission does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
To preserve the integrity of the encyclopedia, this license continues for content that has been shared (e.g. athlete pages) until the account is deleted (see Section 8).
5. Prohibited Content
You may not post content that:
- Is defamatory, illegal, or infringes others’ rights (including copyright)
- Is misleading or impersonates others
- Harasses or invades the privacy of third parties
- Violates any applicable law
We provide reporting tools for the community. Violations may result in content removal and account suspension.
6. Moderation
Sportfolio reserves the right to remove, edit, or refuse any content and to suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion, without prior notice, when we believe these Terms or the law have been violated.
7. Limitation of Liability
Sportfolio acts as a hosting provider for user-generated content and does not exercise prior control over the content posted by users.
The service is provided “as is.” We do not warrant the accuracy of user-generated content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sportfolio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for any defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any user.
8. Termination and Account Deletion
User Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. This action is permanent.
Data Removal: Upon deletion, your personal information will be immediately removed from our active database.
Contributions: WARNING: To preserve the integrity of the encyclopedia, deleting your account will permanently delete all athlete profiles, and content you have created. This action cannot be undone.
9. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France. Any disputes arising from the use of Sportfolio shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first to find an amicable solution. According to French law, you also have the right to resort to a consumer mediator for an amicable settlement.
